Alfred Sisley: Life, facts, curiosities and art!Alfred Sisley, the French painter and graphic artist of English origin, was born on 30. 10. 1839 in Paris. He is regarded as the pioneer of the Impressionist landscape painting apart from Pissaro and Monet. He produced paintings in bright colours ("Der Kanal" 1872; "La Grande Jatte" 1873; "Regatta" 1874). Alfred Sisley died on 29. 1. 1899 in Moret-sur-Loing in Fontainebleau.
