Kasimir Malewitsch was born in Kiev in 1878, he studied in Moscow and joined the futuristic artist group Karo Bube after the start of Impressionism in 1910. He got acquainted with Cubism in 1912. Kasimir Malewitsch created an icon of Modern art, comparable only with «Les Demoiselles d'Avignon» of Picasso with his "Schwarzen Quadrat" (Black square) and thus came to be known as the forefather of Abstract painting. Kasimir Malewitsch is regarded as the founder of Suprematism that propagated the superiority of the soul over the material world.
